President Napolitano approves UCPath Go-Live at UCOP on Nov. 30

Date: 10-29-2015

On Oct. 28, following the recommendation of the UCPath UCOP Steering Committee, President Napolitano approved plans to initiate deployment of the UCPath system at the Office of the President on Nov. 30, 2015. This date reflects when all UCOP employees will have access to the new UCPath self-service website and the UCPath Center in Riverside will be the point of contact to provide support to online and phone inquiries related to many pay and benefit transactions. The process of transitioning from the current payroll system to UCPath will start immediately and continue over the next four weeks. While contingency plans are in place, the extensive testing completed by the UCPath project over the past few months has demonstrated readiness for this transition.

“This is an exciting milestone for the UCPath project, and we are grateful to receive the President’s endorsement” said Mark Cianca, UC Deputy CIO and UCPath Program Director. President Napolitano announced that UCOP would be the first UC location to go live with UCPath in 2014, emphasizing the importance of the project in UC’s goal of increasing operational efficiency.

Other UC locations will follow in three subsequent deployments until the new system is fully operational for UC staff and faculty at all campuses and medical centers. The next locations to implement UCPath following OP will be UC Riverside, UCLA, UC Merced and ASUCLA. UCPath leadership will present to the Board of Regents in January, 2016 with an update of UCPath’s first deployment at UCOP.
