UCPath deploys at UCOP

Date: 11-30-2015

As of Nov. 30, 2015 UCPath, the University of California’s priority program to implement a single payroll, benefits, human resources and academic personnel solution for all UC employees is live at the UC Office of the President. UCOP employees will now visit ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu for self-service pay, benefits & HR transactions.

President Napolitano approved the decision to go-live after reviewing the recommendation of the UCPath steering committee and program leadership in late October. Upon receiving this significant endorsement, project teams immediately began tasks to move from UCOP’s current payroll system to UCPath.

Cutover to the new system took place from late October to Nov. 29 with a successful conversion. UCOP Employees also received multiple touch points of communication and training from UCPath project staff in preparation for go-live. On Nov. 30, The UCPath Center began providing 24 hour support via the UCPath site and phone support Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. UCOP’s first UCPath pay cycles will occur on Dec.1 (monthly) and on Dec. 2 (bi-weekly).

“The teams of the UCPath PMO are thrilled to reach this significant accomplishment in the project. We’re very grateful for the partnership we’ve had with UCOP in working towards this inaugural deployment.” said Mark Cianca, UC Deputy CIO and UCPath Program Director. “UCOP is our first location to launch UCPath, and employees can expect their UCPath experience to evolve as we add additional functions with future deployments”.

The UCPath PMO will continue to work with UCOP in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition. Other UC locations will follow in three subsequent deployments until the new system is fully operational for UC staff and faculty at all campuses and medical centers. The next locations to implement UCPath are UC Riverside, UCLA, UC Merced and ASUCLA.

UCPath program leadership will give an update on the UCOP go-live and progress of future deployments at the January, 2016 Board of Regents meeting.
