UCB Deployment Approved for Go-Live

Date: 02-28-2019

On February 28, UC President Janet Napolitano and UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ approved UCPath implementation at UC Berkeley in March. This approval is informed by a series of readiness assessments and ratifies an earlier “go” decision by UCPath and UC Berkeley executive sponsors Chief Operating Officer Rachael Nava, Chief Financial Officer Nathan Brostrom and UC Berkeley Vice Chancellors Marc Fisher and Rosemarie Rae. When implementation is complete at UC Berkeley in late March, more than 100,000 UC employees will be served by UCPath.

At the same time, President Napolitano and UC Davis Chancellor Gary May agreed to postpone the UC Davis implementation, also planned for March. Kelly Ratliff, UC Davis Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance, Operations and Administration, notes that, “UC Davis recommends postponing its deployment to allow time to comprehensively analyze and address several critical issues related to data conversion and payroll accuracy. UC Davis extends its sincere appreciation to all involved with the UCPath project and will use the additional time to ensure a successful implementation.”

UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR), also scheduled to implement UCPath in March, is ready. However, UC ANR currently depends on UC Davis for key administrative systems and cannot implement UCPath without UC Davis.

The UCPath project office is developing schedule options for remaining implementations, including UC ANR and UC Davis, and expects to have an approved decision by the end of March.
